I need to strip some paint off a resin body. I have used brake fluid on plastic models but I'm not sure about resin. Who's done this and what did you do?
Rico
If you have not voted yet, please do so. This is one of the few times when we all can have a direct input on what gets built.

They have some Ninco track left at Bridgetown Hobbies. It's been there a looooong time. I'll check and see what it is and see if they will discount to get rid of it.

I would second what Monte has to say. Make sure the cars stay on the lanes also.
Actually there is an IMC 1/25 Ford J kit on Ebay but it's kinda pricey. I had a GT40 when I was a kid and had no skills to do it justice. They are pretty nice kits.
Update- It sold for $52.00

Apparantly you've always had a thing for rule bending J cars. I'm beginning to see a pattern. We've seen the 1/32 car and now the HO, where's the 1/43 and 1/24???????
Rico
I came home the other day and this is what I found
This is no BS, I think it's in the genes.

Monte needs his beauty sleep?????????????
Bill- I think that is an excellent compromise. Basically the Naste group has had a little something for everyone, at least as long as I have been involved. The experienced and the not so experienced, the builders and the nonbuilders are all welcomed. All scales of racing are also experienced, so that people can decide on their own which scale they prefer (me, I like them all). At that time, they can continue to race with us or find a group of like minded individuals to race with and the choices seem to be growing more and more. There is so much going on and with the new true scale 1/24, Naste Thursdays, OSCAR, PASER, BSCC, Cape Horn and Naste one could never keep up with all the races. Obviously the separate heats would not be available at all the races depending on the track being used. The HO races and the race at BSCC come to mind.
One question I have is would both heats count for Naste points or would there be a separate series since maybe not everyone would be racing the second heat? Anyway I think it's a great way of adding to a little something for everyone.

Hi Everybody- Any who has an SCX slot car knows they are nice quality, good handling cars, but a LITTLE on the slow side. Now is our chance to improve the breed. SCX has new more powerful motor that only a handful of their cars recieve. Now they want to revert back to the slower RX42 motor instead of the more powerful and slightly more costly RX42B. SCX Worldwide Forum needs your help. Please go to the following link: http://www.scxworldwide.com/ipb/index.p … topic=1232 poll and vote for the 42B motor. If enough people vote for the 42B we can make this a reality. You may have to join the forum, but it's free and their are many friendly slotters.

I guess we all need to bow down to Bill "Johnny Cash" Bostic. At least until the next race. A hearty thanks to The Courtney's for hosting another fun race with plenty of great grub and a special thanks to Mother Nature for the snow, it just wouldn't be a race at Jeff's without snow.

Mike - Here is a link to Artin's main webpage: http://www.artin.com.hk/main.php
Is it possible you bought them from one of their dealers? Slot Car World http://www.slotcarworld.com/ is one the biggest ones and the owner very recently passed away and the family is deciding what to do at this point. Try a Google search for "Artin slot cars", many different vendors show up. I might also suggest trying some different brands of cars, they shouldn't have any trouble running on Artin track.

I did some research on the Carrera 1/24 cars. Availability seems somewhat limited as do the types of cars. The prices are all over the place, as some of them appear to be quite collectable. I found two vendors and neither one had the vintage Corvette like the one in the test, only newer ones (C5,6), various Ferraris, an assortment of hot rods and a few LMP's. Food for thought. Several of the other chassis could be raced in different classes with just a body swap, that appeals to me.
Rico
Ditto on the testing. Ditto on Monte's question. Is that a 4.0 or 4.5 inch wheelbase on the Parma? What type of body, hardbody or lexan?
Rico
I would have to agree as any needed replacement parts should be available to purchase as the need arises
Are you going to include HRS chassis as I think they would have an inherent advantage. I picked up another 956 white kit last night on Ebay for $20.00 to set up for Randy's enduro or whatever. My thought would be RTR cars only, include any that come with orange motor and black pod. No Nissans, or McLarens- only Porsche's, Lancia's, Sauber/Mercedes, Jaguars. Maybe even exclude the open cockpit cars, just to keep it simple and not end up with a race of one make like what happened during the summer when you had four red Ferrari's and it was hard to tell which was yours.
I do like the idea of doing some test races on different tracks and am always up for a race as long as the schedule permits.
Rico
So what I'm getting at is that a motor that came out of a sidewinder would not work in a inline or vice versa. So buyer beware on any motor from Randy. I guess a sharp eye could tell the difference or one could come up with the measurements. His upcoming enduro seems to be headed towards sidewinder. What did you have in mind? Are you planning on using a single chassis (All Porsche 956/962) or mixed like the summer season? A single spec chassis would be simpler and easier to tech.
Rico
Question- Are the gears from inlines the same as the ones from a sidewinder? I don't think they are and that would create problems for those not able to change gears. Might even be hard to id the difference. The orange endbells are ok with me.
Rico
The name of the tires is TRU-Grip. I got them from Greg Hodge. Try getting in touch with the vendor at kelmac1@msn.com
They are sized as Slot.it 20 X 11.

Just want to say a BIG Thankyou to Monte and Victoria for hosting a awesome race last night. I can't speak for everyone but I had a really fun time last night. The cars were really evenly matched and well prepared. The food was more than plentiful and tastey.
Thanks again
Rico
Some of those white end bell motors are 25K. They were the Scalextric replacement motor. I have one in my Scalextric Lister LMP car.

We believe in startin em young round here
