Kelly says "thanks guys".
This coming weekend is the Portland Vintage Racing Festival (formerly Portland Historic Races) and the featured race is Vintage Trans Am. Might be of interest to see some of our 1:1 cars race. I'm probably headed out Sunday, if anyone is interested get in touch with me and maybe we can meet up.

Okay then. One other thing I just thought of is that Kelly will still be at work at that hour and the food quality will suffer at my races :-(

While in general support of Sunday racing, I do have one question. How will this affect the 1st Sunday Series races?

Unless we start a tech inspection the rules are pretty much a guideline and governed by one's own conscience as to how far a racer may or may not want to exceed them. Now back to our regularly scheduled fun.

Thank you Bob for a super fun and competitive race. I just wish I hadn't had the motor problems. I think they were just over oiled as I took them both apart when I got home and polished the commutators, cleaned out the segments and the brushes. Both seem to run fine on the power supply with no load. I will have to test further to see if they are actually cured. The first motor had one pretty worn brush which I replaced from a dead motor. Anyway, I still had fun regardless of the results which is all that matters.
Regards
Rico

I had a surprise 50th Birthday party for Kelly and the times conflicted so I had to miss this splendid affair. Hope to make it next time.

Thanks Bill for the racing, BSing and snacks. It was good to be racing again and it looks like I need to do some minor repairs to the Vette to keep ahead of the field. For a few seconds I thought your power supply had blown up but it was just Al's Cheetah taking a turn in my lane!

I've used brake fluid but I've had it soften some plastics and I really hate the feel of it

Very good to know, thanks Bill. I have a body that needs stripping. Maybe I should clarify, a slot car body that needs stripping. I just bought some stuff called Mean Green at the Dollar Tree for the rentals and they had some citrus degreasers as well. Has anyone had any success with oven cleaner?

Not that I know of, but this car was just a must have for me as it's always been one of my favorites.

You're safe, it's definitely not a Gr. C car so not legal to run in that class.

I just set it down for the picture, I have not run it yet. Next Thursday at Bill's for sure. Is yours here yet? It had fewer miles to travel.

I've got some cars on Ebay in case you want to check them out. I listed the Kal Kar which already has 2 bids and 5 watchers in less than 24 hours:

Sorry I couldn't make it Rico. I definitely would have been there if I could have!!!
I LOVE racing at the Hills, especially if the Fickle Fiats are on the grid!!!!
I know Bill, you definitely had more important matters to deal with than a trivial slot car race.
P.S. The lights are repaired, a minor connection issue at a Saagervision installed junction block. To be fair, a step stool may be to blame and a certain "yute".
