I've used brake fluid but I've had it soften some plastics and I really hate the feel of it

Very good to know, thanks Bill.  I have a body that needs stripping.  Maybe I should clarify, a slot car body that needs stripping.  I just bought some stuff called Mean Green at the Dollar Tree for the rentals and they had some citrus degreasers as well.  Has anyone had any success with oven cleaner?

Not that I know of, but this car was just a must have for me as it's always been one of my favorites.

You're safe, it's definitely not a Gr.  C car so not legal to run in that class.

I just set it down for the picture, I have not run it yet.  Next Thursday at Bill's for sure.  Is yours here yet? It had fewer miles to travel.

I've got some cars on Ebay in case you want to check them out.  I listed the Kal Kar which already has 2 bids and 5 watchers in less than 24 hours:

I also listed the Garvic which also has 5 watchers:

Sorry I couldn't make it Rico. I definitely would have been there if I could have!!!

I LOVE racing at the Hills, especially if the Fickle Fiats are on the grid!!!!

I know Bill, you definitely had more important matters to deal with than a trivial slot car race.

P.S. The lights are repaired, a minor connection issue at a Saagervision installed junction block.  To be fair, a step stool may be to blame and a certain "yute".

I would like to thank everyone who visited last night and hope you had as good of a time racing as I did hosting the race.  You can be sure I will get the lights fixed that were working Wednesday evening. It would have been nice to have a few more racers, especially in the expert division.

Thank you Saager's for a pleasant evening of racing.  Dominic and I had a good time racing, eating and visiting.  I have to say I really enjoy this digital layout much better than the old one unless you're running the M M Mel T T Tillis Porsche.  The controllers worked awesome and other than the previously mentioned Tillis car the system works great and is way more user friendly.

Thanks again
Rico

Thanks Bill for another entertaining evening of racing, it's always a good time at Too Bad Motorplex. I think I may have a junk food hangover or I'm just tired from getting home so late. What I thought was going to be an improvement in the Trans Am  class, clearly wasn't, so I guess it's back to the drawing board.  I still giggle inside at how well that beat up, second hand BRM runs, just amazing. Although the Omron car shows great promise after just a few laps getting into the 8.3's.

I wasn't trying to change how we race the cars, I was just wondering if cars other than Cartrix or Scalextric were allowed to run.  If a class is called Scalextric Modern or Cartrix Classic that leads me to believe that those brands are the only ones allowed but if other brands compatible cars are allowed then so be it.

Question: Are we going to limit the Vintage F1 to Scalextric only?  This car is just now becoming available and would fit very nicely with the Scalextric Modern class

You can read more about it here: http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.p … ntry966321

I'm not sure how well the performances will match but the chassis is basically the same as the previous Fly March 761 which were supposed to be quite quick.  In fact the March's would fit the class quite nicely as well.

Thoughts?

Lastly I got a text from my daughter who's staying at our house for us while we're gone. She was wondering why there were slot car tires in the fridge!

So you do eat those things, I wondered.  I guess after a few licks they start tasting pretty good.

After he figured out he shouldn't race with the dried out tires from your track, he's trying to keep his tires fresh.

NO ONE is complaining. I'm just giving him a little good natured ribbing, that's all.  If it didn't sound that way I apologize.
