Perfect day for a retiree!!!!!!
Was cruisin' around the site and noticed this stop. Looks like we were havin' some fun in here for awhile...........
Lookin' forward to the BBQ next Saturday! Wonderin' how's gonna be around for chassis buildin'? I'm thinkin' we will focus on some REALLY simple design!
Now that I'm retar'd and all, it's mostly Mai Tais for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's more examples of Greenman's creations:
Greg rebuilt this Revell McLaren lowering the body on the chassis, installing aluminum wheels with inserts, and replacing most of the running gear. This is one good handling Revell McLaren!
This scratchbuilt Jag started life as one of Revell's E-Type offerings.
Odd Thursday Night Racing on August 15th. We had 9 racers for the Classic Sports Car Class. Rico took the win with Bryan Dickerson in second place. Rico raced his scratchbuilt Ferrari 250P and at the end Bryan was within 5 feet of Rico with his Ninco Corvette. In the GT Class Gary "Goose" Gossett got the win with his Slot.It Nissan R90. The margin of victory was very slim in this race also, as Goose edged out Rico with a mere 6 feet to spare. We saw some great close racing throughout the evening. Thanks to all that made it out!
Here's the results:
Classic Sports Car Class:
1st Rico Locati 47 laps
2nd Bryan Dickerson 47
3rd Bill Bostic 46
4th Terry Abbott 45

"Greenman" (Greg Petrolati) made it out to race. Here's some of his work.
You are most welcome Rico!
And I must say you had a splendiferous finish as well!
Yes it was + a great group of people to race with!
Randy has shut down BSCC and taken down the track.

Please mark your calendars for a BBQ and open track day at TooBad Motorplex in Fairview on Saturday August 24th. For those of you who have not had a chance to visit this would be an excellent opportunity as I will have our home and track open ALL day!
I have been asked by some racers to have a "build day" like we did in the early days of NASTE. So from 8:00am until 11:30am I will have tables set up with soldering equipment and jigs to facilitate chassis building. In addition I have available for use a drill press, belt & disc sander, and a metal cutting bandsaw. If you're interested in chassis building just bring your parts including motor, wheels, axles, guide, motor mount etc., and some brass and steel rod. If you're unsure what you might need just shoot me an email.
At 11:30am I will start the BBQ to cook up some hamburgers and hot dogs. I will have pop available, but feel free to bring your own drinks if you prefer.
The track will be open for play or whatever from 8:00am until whenever the last person leaves (or I need to go to bed, which would be by midnight - I may be retar'd, but I still need to get up sometime the next day!).
If you have not yet visited my track, it is a 3 lane routed MDF track with copper tape and a lap length of 84 feet. The power supply is variable, and driver's stations use alligator clips.
Our pond fish will probably be out frolicking and searching for food, and available for viewing, but please NO FISHING (or swimming!).
I am hoping to see some new faces and also some of my old slot car buddies I have not seen in awhile. Us old guys always talk about getting together, well here's our chance!

You're welcome Rico, thanks for making it over!
Your handicap only applies to that particular car in it's winning configuration. If you de-tune or make significant changes to the car the handicap would not apply. Only proven dominant car & driver combinations are assessed a handicap.
You can be proud you have achieved the handicap status! You are in an elite group!

You got me..............I'm not sure what they are!!!??????????

Greenman back in action!
Some of Greenman's handiwork
Odd Thursday on August first at TooBad Motorplex. We had ten racers in the mix, with four of them being under the age of eighteen. It was a fun night of racing, crashing, and a little nerfing. It was good to see Len and Sue Gillean back in the garage, as well as Greg "Greenman" Petrolati back with a controller in his hand! Gary "Goose" Gossett brought out a fast Slot.It GT40 for the GT Class, and loaned my granddaughter Cailin a Ninco Jaguar to race in the Classic Sports Car Class (thanks Goose!). Speaking of my granddaughter, she made her grandpa proud by completing six three minute heat races (in two different classes) with less than one de-slot per heat! The entire Flood family was in attendance and all of them raced well. Russell, Todd, and Thomas "The Chisel" duked it out and all finished within just a lap or two of each other. But at the end of the night it was Rico Locati with a clean sweep, winning both classes! ............HAMMER - We missed you !!!!!!
Here's the way it went:

Yes it's true, now that I'm retar'd I go to bed when I feel like it, and the same for getting up...........
It was great to have you all over last night. I also enjoyed the racing!
Thanks for the camera work Hammer!!!!
Odd Thursday July 11, 2013.
Terry Abbott took the win in the Classic Sports car Class with his Ninco Corvette. Just for the record there was some controversy over a turn marshaling incident that may have benefited Terry, but not so much for Dorothy who scored the second place finish (they still went home together, so I think they worked it out). Dorothy finished second to Terry by less than two feet! Also noteworthy was the -2 lap handicap Bryan Trachsel carried and still finished fifth!
In the GT Class it was Rico Locati's night. Rico finished a solid three laps ahead of second place!
After the GT Class race we ran an unofficial F1/Indy Class race to set a baseline for car development. The cars were able to complete 57 to 59 laps in three minute heats running at 12 volts. The cars raced were pretty much stock, with only minor modifications and tire changes.
Lastly to round out the evening, Chris Kouba brought out his 1/24 BRM Porsche 962s for another round of IROC racing. We ran the BRMs at 9.6 volts for three minute heats. Bryan Trachsel took the win completing 57 laps. Bryan Trachsel and Bryan Dickerson both posted sub-nine second laps!
Thanks to all that made it out!
Here's the results:
Classic Sports Car Class:
1st Terry Abbott 48 laps
