Great pictures Dorothy!
You truly are the Mistress of All Things Photogenic!
Hey y'all, I updated the NASTE 2014 Racing Season Gallery with new photos. Check it out when you get a chance.....
Very cool! Thank you Dorothy!!!
Here's a photo from last night's race at Edgewater Raceway in Salem - all bunched up in the first turn!

I had a great time too!!! MAN, what a BIG FAST track!!!!
Everything went very smooth except for the one controller malfunction. I tore the controller down this morning to try to determine the cause. It appears the wiper button was hanging up slightly on the resistor band just before the brake band. I readjusted the resistor position in the frame, and adjusted the wiper to better center the contact button. It is much smoother now and worked fine when bench tested. The next race will tell for sure!
The cars Dave prepared worked flawlessly! Man they were fun, and they made for very close racing! Thanks Dave, you did a great job!!!
The track was absolutely spot on!!! The computer system ran perfectly with NO glitches, and there were NO issues with the track itself!!! Thanks Carl!!!!

It's 9:40 pm Friday night and I just finished rebuilding the four Parma Turbo controllers for tomorrow's race in Salem. Due to a last minute change in my plan, I came up short on parts (I know, so what's new?). Anyway, I would like to give a BIG THANKS to PCH Parts Express for getting the parts I needed to me on short notice. I placed my order on Tuesday after 9:00 pm, and the parts were in my mailbox on Friday!
Scott at PCH saved my bacon! Thanks Scott!!!
Now let's RACE!!!!

List updated from Nov. 7 race.
Odd Thursday evening, November 7, 2013. Six of us got together for a little racing, and a chance to forget about this crappy, wet, cold weather. We had the pleasure of having Mitch Brooks stop by to check out our Odd Thursday program. Mitch has been active in 1/24 scale drag racing. We raced the Classic Sports car Class first and it became obvious traction, or more appropriately the lack of it, was the big issue for the night. Terry Abbott got the win, beating out Goose by just one tenth of a lap. Mitch Brooks won the GT Class where traction was nowhere to be found. For the finale Chris Kouba brought out his 1/24 BRM Porsches for some IROC style racing. Racing these cars on the narrow (for 1/24 cars) and tight TooBad Motorplex track is exciting to say the least! We nerfed, traded paint, and just plain booted each other for hours! Racing thew BRMs is just way more fun than it should be! Thanks Chris for again letting us abuse your cars (especially me!).
Thanks to the racers that made it out! I had a blast!
The Results:
Classic Sports Car Class:
1st Terry Abbott 47.6 laps
2nd Gary "Goose" Gossett 47.5
3rd Bryan Dickerson 46.0
4th Chris Kouba 44.3
5th Bill Bostic 42.1
6th Mitch Brooks 37.1
GT Class:
1st Mitch Brooks 55.3 laps
2nd Chris Kouba 53.6
3rd Bryan Dickerson 52.9
4th Terry Abbott 50.8
5th Gary "Goose" Gossett 50.5
6th Bill Bostic 50.1
1/24 BRM Porsche IROC
1st Chris Kouba 54.1 laps
2nd Gary "Goose" Gossett 53.6
3rd Bryan Dickerson 50.6
4th Mitch Brooks 44.7
Will do Rico.
I added some new photos in the Gallery. Look for "The Pits at Rapid Raceway" for photos of some of the cars raced at Rapid Raceway.
Photos from the 2013 NASTE Halloween Race have been added to the Gallery - check it out when you have time!
Very well put Dorothy, and right on the mark!
Howie, thanks again for hosting! This may very well have been our best NASTE Halloween Race to date!!!
Terry, thank you for all the work you put in getting all the loaner cars into competition!
Dorothy thanks for the pictures & video, and treats, and food!
Bryan, thanks for the dogs and not winning!!!!
Thrash Day!
So far I have one resurrected, and working on something new...........
Maybe the pressure makes it more fun???
I finished my kitchen work (that the contractor should be doing) tonight.
Tomorrow I will try to find time for Halloween car work................still got a day and a half!
Well here it is 2 days before the Halloween race and yet again I have no car ready..........Why do I do this every year?
No ideas this year.... Too much going on..... New kitchen counter tops going in and the contractor is less than ideal!.... I have work to do there before Friday.
Booked up until late afternoon today.........Guess I'll try to resurrect a previous entry sometime tomorrow........
Like I said last year............."Next year I'm going to get an early start on my Halloween car!"...........................so I said....................
I just hope I'm still around to see him hold a controller on his own!!!!
Hey, we gotta try somethin' to get some competition for Bryan!
Let's see, by the time Henry is 12, Bryan should be close to 60? Maybe that will help too!!!!
You can see Henry in action with his new SCX Race Set here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWOyXXLIGC0
Here's my Grandson Henry practicing his slot car racing skills (with a little help from grandma)...............

I just had to get a couple close up photos of this car!

Here's the drivers getting in some practice time before the start of the proxy:

The chassis workmanship on all of the entries was outstanding in quality and detail! But that wasn't all. Just check out the amazing paint jobs on the bodies!
