Yes, I will.

I should be able to make either day.

Good luck!  May preparation win the day.

Too funny Mitch!

Yup, had a good time.  We gotta work on Doc's spelling...

I always like to see the competition sweat.

Congratulations Stan!

Might as well get used to the classes now.  I think my cars are legal for whatever class they run in judging by my results.  Or I can't cheat worth beans...

Or at least hope they will grow back!

Happy 4th Mitch.

We're settling for outside lights in 4th of July trim.  Should be festive.

Yes it is.  Cat years too.

That is correct.  As it turns out we have conflicts on each of those dates.  We'll be back to racing here in October I believe.  Hope to see you all here then.

Wow, looks like the weather even cooperated!  Nice job all.

My intention was to let the result stand unless I heard a complaint.  In my opinion I did.

Yes, I apologize, this must be all my fault.

I should have stopped the race at Howie's as soon as the problem became apparent and dealt with it.  We should have cleaned tires at every heat.

Things need to be fair or at least perceived as fair.  And I'm not the only one that thought there was an issue watching their lap totals plummet as the tires on some of the cars became glazed.  And not all the cars, just some.  Rotation order had little to do with it.  It was not gradual, it was not consistent.  Once they glazed, that was it.  That's not racing and not what this series was supposed to be about.

We can debate complaint vs. opinion some other time.

But just to refresh here's your opinion that got the race thrown out completely:

Maybe we should throw out the results of the second race entirely since we didn't count one lane and somebody cleaned their tires before a heat which was a no-no.

No-no?  Must be some unwritten law.

To not have a rule in place to install a certain fairness for all makes little sense.  I doubt having clean tires at each run will reduce any drivers fun.

After the last race at Howie's it's pretty clear to me that something needs to be done about the tire cleaning situation.

Since Victoria and I seem to be in charge of this part of the NASTE program I'm going to make one right here.

TIRE CLEANING RULE FOR IROC RACES:
You are allowed to clean your tires at any time.

It would be good for the race host to either clean ALL rear tires prior to each heat or at the minimum provide materials/time for contestants to prepare their car.

No longer will there be any reason to castigate a racer for trying to get as good a run as the racer that had the clean tires in the first place.

We'll have to start calling him Big Al now!  Congratulations Al!  You da man.

Yup, agreed.  And it wouldn't hurt to get over there for a little testing prior to the race.  All the cars I had there worked great - at first.

Just talked with Bill and it looks like the HO track may not be ready in time.  Let's see if we can reschedule that race for Howie's and we'll get the cars straightened around and see if we can get results that make sense.

Ya know, my initial opinion was to not count the race since tire traction changed drastically.  If you were in an early heat you were golden, later heat, tons of trouble.  To say that only the early drivers get decent traction and that is somehow fair is ludicrous.

I will remove the race from the standings.

Or just throw out the whole race.

You will note the results are different for the first race than reported that night.

I made a math error, sorry.  5 laps will do that to you...

Next time let's remember to get over there and do some testing prior to the race night.
