That is an excellent point Mitch. If we allow the upgraded pod type chassis with this car it will immediately make all the existing cars obsolete and non-competitive.
All by luck buddy!....You know the saying; even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile!
Here's the results from the un-official Trans Am race. No points were awarded for this race.
1st Goose Gossett 60.4 laps - fastest lap 8.427
2nd Bill Bostic 59.5 - 8.255
3rd Mitch Brooks 54.4 - 9.322
4th Al Christensen 51.6 - 9.399
5th Bob Nakamura 46.6 - 10.432
Thank you to all that made it to the race last night! We had a great turnout despite the weather and holiday traffic. We had 22 racers in attendance! We saw some friends we hadn't seen in awhile, and had some great racing action!
P.S. Somebody left their Yo-Yo on the driveway............
Dave Smith showed up at the last race with a car he recently completed. Dave built this Formula V using a very unique body. Very cool!
Here's a V Womp Dave Smith built:
The V Womp cars as raced at TooBad Motorplex have proven to be very popular. The cars are fun to race and very durable. They can also be assembled cheaply by starting with a used car and just replacing the motor and the rear tires, and of course adding a VW body. Although we are not currently actively racing this class, if you're interesting in building one one here's the info:
Specs call for a Professor Motor motor: part no. PMTR1032 http://www.professormotor.com/Fox-10-Ma … tr1032.htm
Paul Gage urethane rear tires: part no. PGT-22160 rear tires http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-24-URETHANE-S … 2352c38841
The motors are 25k rated motors. Gearing is Spec at 7 tooth pinion and 28 or 29 tooth crown gears. The rear tires are direct replacements for the stock Parma Womp wheels. Chassis are Spec Parma Womp non-brass chassis. Chassis modifications or alterations are not allowed.
Thanks guys for your support on the marriage front! Diane is the best as any of you that have met her know! I would be lost without her! I am one lucky guy!
I'm sorry I couldn't stay for all the racing but I'm glad there was a good turn out and some good racing! It looked like everyone was having a great time while I was there! Al did a very nice job constructing his track and it runs very well! I did stay long enough to get a few bites of Al's famous meats! I will also say I had a very nice evening with my beautiful wife celebrating our 16th anniversary!
Back away from the computer!!!!
I believe they got the leak stopped at least temporarily. He said they had to take everything out of his storage area and put it in with the track. They still need to repair all the damage to the moldings, floor, and walls. He also needs to find out why the leak started and what they need to do to make permanent repairs. He said it is really a mess.
The location of the next NASTE race on Saturday December 19th has been changed to TooBad Motorplex in Fairview. Due to Bob Nakamura's basement sufferring some water damage from these latest storms, we had to move the race to another track. So we will be returning to Fairview to run the next race at TooBad. I apologize for any inconvenience and the repeat race venue, but unfortunately circumstances were beyond our control. And ultimately if this is not satisfactory, well you know...........too bad!
Ohhhhhhh..........well then, that too would depend on price. Biggest problem is I haven't had them out and accessible for anyone to actually look at!!! I also have some bare chassis for 36D motors. I have parts to assemble them also. I could probably put together kits if anyone is interested. I know I still have multiples of Classic chassis.
Everything I own is for sale, it's just the price that's in question!
As far as the 36Ds go, I was not aware anyone needed any!
36D motors you ask?...........................I have NEW ones yet to be run!!!
What you see there are OTHER PEOPLE'S unfinished projects I haven't gotten around to finishing or restoring!!!
I have figured out where old slot cars go to die..............MY place!
Tracy recently said to me: "I buy all the stuff no one else wants".............I think the same may apply to me!
So I got this bright idea I would start my inventory by getting all my 1/24 chassis together. Laying them on my track seemed like a good idea and a way to organize them. As it turned out it was a lot like organizing a tank full of guppies by color. SH*T I have a lot of chassis!!! Actual count was 126 in 1/24th, and 25 in 1/32nd not including any of my current (within the last 5 years) projects under construction. Unfortunately for me that's not ALL of them. I got tired of unboxing them. But let's say I have the potential to complete another 200 or so 1/24 slot cars. That's close enough for me. From here my plan is to just get a count of the complete slot cars I have in 1/24, 1/32, and HO. After that I may have a stroke!
New items added, thanks again Goose!
Now there's another option...........! Thanks Monte!
Rico, I considered that when I posted this! I should have known the thought would cross your mind too!
Monte, The current count stands at "unsure". The counting became somewhat confusing last night. But fear not, I think I have come up with an inventory plan this morning! It should make for some interesting pictures!
Here's a few 1/32 chassis. Some old 60s RTR type manufactured, some old 60s race set chassis, some newer.
Here's a pile MEAT might appreciate! A few of my old KTM and Kemtron power chassis. Some really wierd stuff here!
Also in my collection are some old clear bodies that have been painted and detailed. Some are pretty well done. I like the use of the screen on this F1 body.
So there is a small sample of some of my 1/24 and old 1/32 stuff. I have LOTS more in HO as well as 1/24 and 1/32. Any interest in seeing more?
Everybody has lots of 1/24 Flexis......right?
My collection might be somewhat unusual as I have a lot of 1/24 scratchbuilt chassis which probably wouldn't be classified as pristine or high quality collectibles. But when I think about how much time someone put into building these chassis I just can't help feeling aneed to preserve them. I hope to reconstruct some of the chassis I have collected through the years. I wish I new the story behind each one! Who owned them and where they were raced. Now that would be cool!
Here's an old jaildoor chassis someone built back in the day. Not perfect, but not too bad!
