AH HA! I knew it! A conspiracy!
Oh that sounds so Chet'-ike!!!
WHAT NEW TOY, WHAT NEW TOY????!!!!!!!
UPDATE: This morning the NASTE Gravity Team Racer was successfully and officially entered in the 2016 Portland Adult Soap Box Derby. Team members arrived at the sign up location at 4:00 am. We were FIRST in line to register! Our team leader and captain Dennis Hart represented us well. The Hawksbill Flyer will be sporting the number 39!
If you have not yet signed up to be a member of the team, do so! This is going to be a great experience for all those involved!
Don't forget to mark your calendars, the next work session is next Saturday May 7th at noon. Dennis wil be BBQ'ing lunch for all those that show up. If you plan to attend please let Dennis know! There is still plenty of oppportunities to offer your expertise and assistance on this project! + We NEED to recruit a PUSHER for the start line the day of the race!!! A big, young, strong, FAST, studly kind of guy would be ideal! (Or girl that fits that descritption!).............
Yesterday I ventured over to Howie's Rapid Raceway for some Early Modified racing. There weren't a lot of racers in attendance so Howie decided we'd race without turn marshals using a "track call" format where the track power was shut off if a racer deslotted. To be honest I don't remember ever racing under this type of format, although maybe I have and just don't remember (old guy thing you know!). Anyway I experienced some REALLY great racing! The Early Modified cars are very challenging to race. With the car's open wheels passing can be difficult to say the least, and with the "track call" racing format the field was kept tight for the entire race! You had to be on your toes throughout every heat! It was a very exciting race and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks Howie!
Congrats Stan! That was a great run!

Monte and I are pleased to announce we have increased our inventory as well as the list of tires we now make. Although we have over 400 tires now in our inventory, some of the more popular pairs are somewhat limited in quantity due to the fact we make tires to fit over 30 different types of cars,. But fear not, we are just getting started and will have even more tires within the next 3 weeks! We are also still interested in knowing what types of cars we should be adding to our list for future tire molds!

I wanted to give racers a chance to get their new Le Mans class cars up and running before I put the class on the schedule. How about the May 5 race for the first Le Mans Class race?
Dennis took some pictures, but I haven't seen them yet.
We had the first work session at Dennis Hart's shop in Warren yesterday. With Dennis, Jimmy, Mitch and Al in attendance we got a lot accomplished! The bottom flat portion of the car which supports the axles and is the main piece of the car, was cut out and laminated together. The axle trees were also cut out to fit over the axles. This was all accomplished in under 4 hours! Great job guys!
The rules for the Le Mans Classic Class have been posted under the Race Rules section of the forum. They are listed in the Odd Thursday Night Racing section.

Odd Thursday Night Racing at TooBad Motorplex on April 7th, 2016
We started the night of racing with two preliminary races to test out the new proposed Le Mans Class. Both race grids were filled with both Scalextric and Fly cars. Although the Fly cars proved to be superior in performance, they also experienced the most mechanical failures.
The night of official racing started with the F1 Class race. Chris Kouba's new car proved to be the car to beat, and well, nobody did. In the Can Am Class Chris again lead the way to the stripe with his Slot.it McLaren M8D. Finally in the BRM Class Rico put an end to Chris' run for the checkered flag. In the Over 50 Class it was Al leading all the way with his outstanding KTM powered Cheetah!
