The chassis pictured above turned out to be the best handling chassis I have ever built. I am quite pleased with it. It had a very good race result in it's first race. I was able to turn in a new NASCAR record. I no longer have my doubts!!

I am working on my new NASCAR, trying to get it ready for this Saturday's race ( Jan. 4th.). I need to paint the car and finish the chassis. This is a complete home built chassis. I really have my doubts about the chassis, we will see. The motor is not my best, but I mainly wanted to test the chassis to see how it handles. If it handles ok, I'll race it. The chassis is adjustable to raise or lower it both front and back.
Happy New Year to you all.

Beau just finished his 962. It looks like we will have enough 962's to race next race on Nov. 23rd.

This is the new '50 Olds body done up by Gearloose into a slot car, we dubbed it the "lead sled". Very nice with a great metal flake paint job! Notice it has the original "spinner" hub caps!

The addition of wheel inserts does make the car look nicer. This GT-1 is finished and ready for Bill to dial it in. Hopefully he can make the practice on the 28th. of Sept.

Howie,

I want to thank you again for getting this project completed for me! I have taken this thing out, sat in on the work bench, piddled with it a bit, stuck it back in the box, and put it away, again unfinished, so many times you wouldn't believe!!! I can hardly wait to get some track time with it!!!

Body all mounted up. Cut the front tires down just a hair to clear the fender wells, .055" clearance is set. Now needs running gear and it will be time to test and tune. The test and tuning part will be up to Bill. I think this is a very nice GT-1.

This Corvette body offers a little challenge as the inside is not an even surface, so after much thought, here is how I am going to mount the body: The glass is already in the car so I can not get to the mounts through the open window areas. So I will use glue ( automotive Goop ) to attach the pins to the body ( after cutting off the bottom of the pins to fit the angle )and after drying will use JB Weld to attach the1/4" brass angle to the pans, that way the wet JB Weld can move to where it needs to be after setting the body on and when dry it will be properly in place ( hopefully ).

Bill is building a Corvette GT-1. This will be a very nice looking car when finished. I am helping finish the project as he fed me at his BB'Q, so it is a trade!

This is the Corvette body that will be used.

Bill cut a nice pair of pans that fit perfectly.

Even though the turnout for the Apr. 20th. '13 race was not enough to race, Bad Bob showed up with his True Scale NASCAR.
He had a TS Can-Am also but I missed getting a picture of it.

Now that the Late Model Trans-Am rules have changed regarding tracking both front ( 3.150" ) and rear ( 3.250 ) I added flairs
( a requirement if you extend the tracking ) to my Challenger. I used .025" plastic sheet available at the hobby shop. I ground out the wheel wells and glued the plastic in and then trimmed them to size, then painted to match the car. Almost a piece of cake!!

That Early Modified is killer and I predict it will be a winner, looking forward to it's being completed and racing against it. The chassis and bumpers and all the soldering is first class.
I have that kit and it makes me want to dig it out and start building it, but wait, I have to finish my other projects first. I always say: "it is better to have too many projects than not enough!!

Except for a few mechanicals, BLues Brothers Pontiac is ready to race. I won't know how it runs 'till race time, that I guess is how I do things. This is my first try with a True Scale NASCAR and am looking forward to it. I have another chassis that is completely hand built but is not done yet. The decals on this car was a bitch to say the least, they are just too big to deal with and would not lay flat in some areas.
