Topic: Monte at the SCX Nationals

Best pic I've seen of the Big Smooth and look at that Team Naste t-shirt.

Re: Monte at the SCX Nationals

Yup, that's me proudly wearing my NASTE shirt running my first heat in red being chased by Li'l Phil in yellow.  It was a good event and a fun track.  Not too hard to learn.  Won a couple of cars on the trivia contests that Rich did every now and then.  Got an older SCX (matchbox) 4WD Toyota Corolla for knowing that a "red head" in Ferrari-speak means Testa-Rossa.  In fact I seemed to be the only one that knew that.  And got a really nice Spirit Peugeot for being the fastest with Enzo's son: Dino.

Got there about 8:30 Friday night and stayed at the track until about 11:30 practicing.  During so, I changed the crown gear and removed ALL the weight I had added.  On Saturday I was #18 on the list so I waited just about three hours before my first heat.  Had to take a few minutes to get used to the track again.  Could have done a little better.  Could have done a lot worse.  Learned a few new tricks.

Had a great time hanging out with Dave Kennedy and Tommy Pintchuck.  Even heard things that I can not tell you.  Got to fondle the new Purple Cuda's - both #42 and #48.  They are spectacular.

I'd like to thanks my sponsors and supporters.  It was greatly appreciated.

Spent today touring the historical sites in downtown Philadelphia.  Apparently there isn't really a map on the back of the Declaration of Independence...

Re: Monte at the SCX Nationals

This is the pre race meeting where Monte had to educate those present that Oregon is a state.
