Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

I'm still trying to finish my TA ll chassis, I was hoping to use an extra sportsman chassis for a couple of races but the wheelbase is wrong. Meanwhile my late model sportsman will have to go another round. I had bought a '64 Fairlane body for this year but it is a bit too narrow for this chassis.

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

I got a number of projects going on now!

I forgot to take pictures of some, but I will later tonight.

I did pick up this Hanna "style" car to build up for OSCAR and PASER nascar races that are coming up.

I will be attempting to copy it with revised chassis height for the Rapid Nascar class as well.

It was well used and needs some general cleaning and tweaking before being built back up. So I got started on that last night.

The front axles are somewhat mis-aligned and the wheels have horrid runout, so I am trying to decide whether that matter with an ORING or not.....

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

Moving along on this 1/24 fleet. I built a new Chevy Malibu SS body for my late model sportsman car. I purchased a 4 pack or random decals on ebay and just did something up that looked decent to me.

The Camaro just got some basic numbers, as the rest of the sponsor decals I didn't care much for.

I also built a new front pan for my Scholer. The car was good, but was getting kinda tippy when the grip was high. Hopefully this isn't too much, if so I will have to cut it down or reinstall the previous plate.

I also built my first motor, hopefully its an improvement!

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

Zack that front plate should improve the handling. Chassis looks good along with your cars.

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

Mitch, if your Fairlane body can stretch enough to fit over the chassis, your good to go!!

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

That looks great Rico!

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

I got my NASCAR put together so I can put some laps on it tomorrow before racing starts at Rapid raceway. The small wheels look really funny, but I will probably forget about that when driving it!

I wasn't able to make a lot of progress on the motor, so I am going to have to keep working toward something faster for the race at Bill's on the 23rd. But I hope it handles well!

I trued up a brand new set of Alpha rear tires and installed a new guide, front wheels, motor, and pinion gear. Plus cleaned up all the grime on the chassis from sitting for what I would guess is years.

Thanks for the car Bill!

You're welcome Zack! I think you'll be pleased with it. That is a great design!

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

My second Hanna car coming together. I am prepping it for the race at Bill's this weekend. The chassis design is superior to my other car in a few different ways. Mainly the alignment of the pans is much better controlled, and the front axles are done much nicer.

I put a .560 arm outlaw motor in the first car, hoping this will be enough to keep up with the big dogs. The second car has a standard .518 arm blueprinted motor from Proslot.

Broke in a new gear on it last night, this one will be piloted by MR. Al for the weekend!

Lance "Oggie" Oggero's project for the Early Modified chassis session at Rapid on 2-1-'20. There were 3 guys building cars for the session, Tommy, Lance, Bart. I only have pictures of Oggie's '32. Perhaps Bill or Zack can get more pictures of the session on here.

Looking good howie, that is an interesting chassis design. I have not come across one of those yet, I am still a newbie!

Zack

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

Bill and I looked it up and here is the answer: it is a Scorpion 2 chassis by JK.

Re: Projects: Done/Not So Done

Does anyone have a spare Bluegroove 962 body they would be willing to part with?
