Topic: BRM Racing in Tacoma 11/10-13 - The 2016 24h of Tacoma

It's on!  This year's Tacoma 24:

The Oregon Donors shall ride again.  I am in, as is Monte, Bill, and Stan.  Who else?


3rd Annual BRM 24 Hours of Tacoma.

Racing twice around the clock on all 14 lanes (two tracks) with a brand new pair of BRM's, plus sprint races on Thu and Fri for BRM Classics, GT's, Gp C + Lights, and the Megane

Schedule:

Thursday
1000-1400 - Open track.  Tuning for race entries
1430-1600 - Megane IROC race
1630-1800 - Classics race (917/512)
1900-2100 - Open track time
2130-2300 - GT1 race (911 Evo/F1 GTR)

Friday 10.00 am open for 24 Hours practice, Teams who have not received their Car and spares will receive them now.
1000-1400 - Open track.  Tuning for race entries
1500-1700 - Group C race (Gp C open/Gp C inline 962 run together)
1830-2030 - Last tuning session.
2100-2200 - Qualifying

Saturday:
1000 - Tacoma 24 starts

Sunday:
1000 - Tacoma 24 finishes!

The Oregon Donors officially now have a seat at the 24 hour table, and the good news is that we have effectively qualified on pole!  We are the first paid up entry this year, and as such, we have first choice of starting lane and marshaling corner.  This is a mighty step up from last year where I was able to qualify us dead last!


So...  Mark your calendars!  I have Stan, Monte, Bill, and me on the roster.  Who else is in?  Mr. Fisher?  Either of the Fields'?  Mitch?  Al?  .....Goose??


If you can only  make part of the 24 for that weekend and are interested in doing some of the real racing, let me know and we can seek a creative solution for your inclusion. Even if you can't make the big show and you want to come up and at least get some track time and run some of the support events, let's get your name on the roster and get you in the house.

It's a fun time with some great people so come race with your fellow NASTE Oregon Donor Brothers (or Sisters)!

Word is that these will be furnished painted, like the first 24h. No need to worry about the Scuderia Kouba livery on the Oregon Donor entry. I'm pretty sure Alan said they'll all be yellow anyway.

I am in. I'm sorry for the sluggish confirmation. I am still just not figuring out the NASTE website very well.
Is there anything I need to do (or can do to help) before the race? I have fixed my controller so it now has brakes.

We're breaking into two teams.  Chris should have more info soon.  Let's all get some trigger finger action in as preparation, those are long heats.

Anyone who's offended that they didn't get on the team they wanted to is clearly too sensitive to be playing with us...

I will be heading up there Thurs AM and will stay through the conclusion of the activities on Sun.  I recommend trying to get there for as much track time as possible- there are plenty of races and quite a bit of open track time and as Captain Monte says, we all could use some trigger finger practice.

Look forward to turning laps with you all and breaking in (not BREAKING!) the new cars!

With the discussion last night, I called Tacoma and got two more Donors on the team roster.  As it stands, we are:

Oregon Donors:
Chris Kouba
Mitch Brooks
Stan Smith
John Fisher
Bill Bostic
Al Christensen
Rico Locati


The Oregon Donors Too:
Monte Saager
Tony Kuljis
Ray Bishop
Doug Yarborough

Mitch, Al, and Rico were strong "maybes" so we will distribute them as we see fit if they make it up.  The important thing is they are on the roster.

Whoever can make it up during the week, there is lots of racing and practice time on the track.  Come on up!
