Topic: Look What I Found!

Diane and I went to the Antique & Collectible Show at the Expo Center today. Saw a few slot cars and track sets. I only picked up on the best deal I found. I got this little box of stuff for $20.

Best of it all was this Aurora 1/32 Mercury Comet. It is missing the windows and rear bumper assembly, but the body is uncut and as close to perfect as you can get.

And the other half of the best is this Aurora 1/32 Corvair. It is missing one headlight and the rear bumper assembly, but this body is also uncut and nearly perfect.

Lucky for me!!!!

Also saw a Strombecker set in the box with Ford GT40 and Chaparral 2D cars for $50, an Aurora Thunderjet 500 4 lane set with blue XKE, white Corvette, red Thunderbird, and yellow Maserati cars for $125, and a few T-Jet HO cars here and there in the $40 range. Also saw a T-Jet Batmobile with the box for $275. I felt the cars I saw were priced too high, but the two sets seemed about right.

We just got back. I saw the Strombecker set and some HO stuff. Outside I found one loose Eldon that will probably never run again.

Rico: Thank you for sharing the pictures, nice job. Looks like you and kids had fun! That video was cool with the sounds, those small blocks sure can be nice and noisy.

They were in a different class due to the big block, but they did win their race due to first place dropping out or finishing the race one lap too early by mistake, no one was really sure which.
