Fly or slot.it are preferred since they are compact and stack well.

Thanks

Can you tell us what was updated?

Zack

Thanks for having us Bill.

Congrats to the podium finishers in Can Am, looks like Al is figuring this thing out!

Zack

Just put a motor in it Bill. Thanks for the coverage!

Zack

Glad you picked up the box Bill! Even though the flowers aren't my style it "dates" the box very well with the plaques which is cool.

Amazing to think that at one time there was enough people slot racing to keep that many tracks going! People need to get back to "real" hobbies.

Here is some work he posted today. McLaren M7a. I really like the style of using a mostly the model kit as the structure and then just adding the basic chassis underneath it.

I am sure you have seen Niemas around at this point. He builds some of the best 1/24 scale slot cars I have seen. Usually using pricey fiber glass body kits.

Many of his completed cars sell for 1500 dollars or more. This one though is is a "full detail" car he did ta while back. He did a fantastic job getting the drivetrain in this car without killing the scale realism of the car.

Just thought some of you would find it cool!

I had a good time as well. Thanks again Howie for letting us race.  God help us all if your car wasn’t that good and you still kicked our tails. I was reasonably happy with my car for a rushed effort. It should be better next time.

After that first run in white I was pretty sure Marty or Beau had my number!

The car started coming in well toward the end, but she was a little spicy in the beginning.

It was a fun race. I enjoy these cars for this type of race.

My car wasn't particularly good, but I was able to get it better as the day went on.

For those who were asking about my motor and gearing. The motor is better than some others, however I did end up running 8/27 gearing which I think is quite a bit higher than many were running.

This is due to the fact that we are running 9.5v, so to achieve similar wheel rpm you have to gear considerably lower to reach this speed. Something to try for next year!

I am happy to be back hanging out with friends, even though my performances the last couple weeks have left something to be desired!

I was able to repair my Lola I think, and the Avant is a solid runner.

I also ran the GT3 and Carrera motors in alcohol and re-oiled them, hopefully that helps with their lackluster performance!

Zack

Was a very fun race, and my best ever finish at a OSCAR NASCAR event!

We will have to get you out next time Matt!

Great documentation of the build!

I'm gonna have to put one of my World Championship proxy rejects back together for that one!

The more the merrier. One track I never need to visit though!

This is the last one I built that inspired this guy to have me do one for him. I have sold it and a guy in Texas now enjoys it regularly.

I was contacted through HRW forum a little while back about building some Short-track style sportsman cars for a guys collection.

He had a decent selection of cool bodies, and ended up sending 6 of them that I am going to do. The first he wanted was a 67 Fairlane similar to the one I had built before.

Pretty simple chassis design to keep it lightweight, using .032 brass on the front and sides, a JK Can-am motor bracket, WRP guide tongue and a Samson classics guide tube.

Using the guide tongue and tube setup make the chassis very simple to put together, as those are usually the most time consuming parts of the build for me.

The guy will be doing his own paint and body work, but he wanted me to mockup an interior for him. So I built one from styrene sheet and recycled many of the parts from the stock Monogram interior.

I will post up the other cars, of which I am just doing chassis and body mounts. I should get around to them soon!

Zack

962 is a bit too early for LMP I think. But they can be very fast indeed.

My Lola "was" my best car. But in testing it at the house I broke the guide mount. So a new chassis in en route and I hope it is the same car when I'm done.

These are very interesting indeed. I think there are some really good ideas here, and some things are too complicated or overlooked.

Sounds like a fun project to play with! My suggestion is to go with a lexan Bluegroove body, only because I think that will give you the best shot at having it work well!
