I was able to repair my Lola I think, and the Avant is a solid runner.

I also ran the GT3 and Carrera motors in alcohol and re-oiled them, hopefully that helps with their lackluster performance!

Was a very fun race, and my best ever finish at a OSCAR NASCAR event!

We will have to get you out next time Matt!

I thought I set the TA2 record again at 4.60 last time out?

Great documentation of the build!

Zack

I'm gonna have to put one of my World Championship proxy rejects back together for that one!

Zack

The more the merrier. One track I never need to visit though!

This is the last one I built that inspired this guy to have me do one for him. I have sold it and a guy in Texas now enjoys it regularly.

I was contacted through HRW forum a little while back about building some Short-track style sportsman cars for a guys collection.

He had a decent selection of cool bodies, and ended up sending 6 of them that I am going to do. The first he wanted was a 67 Fairlane similar to the one I had built before.

Pretty simple chassis design to keep it lightweight, using .032 brass on the front and sides, a JK Can-am motor bracket, WRP guide tongue and a Samson classics guide tube.

Using the guide tongue and tube setup make the chassis very simple to put together, as those are usually the most time consuming parts of the build for me.

The guy will be doing his own paint and body work, but he wanted me to mockup an interior for him. So I built one from styrene sheet and recycled many of the parts from the stock Monogram interior.

I will post up the other cars, of which I am just doing chassis and body mounts. I should get around to them soon!

Zack

962 is a bit too early for LMP I think. But they can be very fast indeed.

My Lola "was" my best car. But in testing it at the house I broke the guide mount. So a new chassis in en route and I hope it is the same car when I'm done.

These are very interesting indeed. I think there are some really good ideas here, and some things are too complicated or overlooked.

Sounds like a fun project to play with! My suggestion is to go with a lexan Bluegroove body, only because I think that will give you the best shot at having it work well!

Zack

We will see how she goes. I'm in the process of fixing my Lola...

Zack

I got some work do on this stupid car!

Many of you have seen it on Facebook. I thought I would post the pictures here as well for those who venture later.

This is my new TA2 car. 2NASTE chassis, Tamiya Gt350 body. The inserts are 1/24 Hasegawa BBS sanded down to fit.

Sorry for the late reply. How is open track from 4-5 with a 530 start time on the proxy?

It is only 20 cars as I said, it shouldn't take long!

Well I tried, but I don't think I am going to get out of my Sunday engagements.

The following weekend is Mitch's open track day.....

Who would be down to do it on Thursday like old times? I can get the track up and running by 3:30 so we can have some practice before. There are only 20 cars, it shouldn't take too long to get through them.

Sorry for the delay guys I was having a problem getting the forum up for a bit.

I have a commitment this sunday, but I will see if I can get it moved and try and get this done.

Thanks!
Zack

Thanks for having us Bob, it was probably the best bit of driving I have done. Just happened to be at the right time!

I am not concerned about the entry issue in the current climate. Many of the proxies are being done solo.

I would like to get three drivers so I can keep track of laps and track calls.

Hey guys, as some of you know I am officiating the Fly Classics proxy this year.

I have the cars at my house and am planning to run round 1 on my home track.

I am hoping to round up three guys who would like to come drive. I am open to running them on a Sunday, or any weeknight that may work. It is only 18 cars and you would be welcome to run your own cars after.

Thanks,
Zack

Keep the politics out of slot cars haha, its my only escape.

I for one cannot wait to get back to racing during the week!
