Hi Mike. I've been taking more photos along the way, but I haven't updated the series of photos and details I have already posted. I'll try to get the photos updated this weekend. I should have all the support structure completed by then so you can actually see some results!

Bad Bob and I are thinking about starting a group to run Parma International 32 Vintage Sports/ GT cars running the bodies from this website.. We are going to have a meeting to see how much interest we will have racing something new like this.. These bodies are really nicely detailed and so are the decals that you can get for each car body. Check out the painted bodies in the gallery that are all done up. Please pass this a long to other racers.
I know we have a lot of race groups in our area and a lot of racing else where, but I think this would be a fun class for all scales of racers no matter what scale you race or kind of cars and is a way for all of us to get together and have fun. A couple questions have come up in regards to the 2011 NASTE race schedule. The RPT track is outside and the remaining race dates are Oct & Feb which are both on the colder side. How does everyone feel about adding one more race date to the schedule (possibly late May or early June)?

In addition, would anyone have any objections to scheduling the RPT race for a Wednesday evening instead of the usual Saturday?

Here are the race dates for the NASTE 2011 racing season:

Point race no.1 - Oct. 16, 2010 - Hemi Heights, Jeff
                         Oct. 30 Halloween Race - non-points race - Hemi Heights, Jeff
                    2 - Nov. 20 - Penguin Point, Monte
                    3 - Dec. 11 - Marshall Field, Randy
                    4 - Jan. 15, 2011 - Hemi Heights, Jeff.
                    5 - Feb. 12 - Autumn Hills, Rico
                    6 - Mar. 19 - Jacqueline Park, Monte
                    7 - Apr. 16 - SlingShot -, Larry.
                    8 - May 14 - Autumn Hills, Rico.

All race dates are Saturdays.

For the 2011 racing season, a racer's best seven of the eight total races will count towards the point series championship (racer's will throw out one race).

These are the official tracks for the 2011 season (to date):

Two topics came up at the NASTE BBQ on Sunday Aug. 22 that are open for discussion.

1). Ideas for trophies for next season. One idea is to have a perpetual trophy listing the names, dates, and tracks for each race winner. After each race the winner would take the trophy home, add something to the trophy, and return with the trophy to the next race. The winner of the next race would then take the trophy home, add something to it, and again return it to the next race. At the end of the season the point series champion would get to keep that trophy, in addition to having the NASTE Point Series Championship Trophy with his or her name added to the nameplate.
     A trophy building session was also scheduled for Sunday Oct. 3rd to build some trophies for the individual races.

2). The topic of what cars and classes to race also came up. For the past few years the NASTE Point Series Races have all been IROC style races, which has proved to be a successful format when new racers are considered. Racing individual racer owned cars versus IROC style cars, or some combination of the two was briefly discussed, but warrants more discussion.

I have some sections of routed track FREE to anyone who would like them. They are for a three lane track I started a few years ago, but did not finish. There are 2 - 180 degree turns, 1 - ess turn, and a couple straight sections. They are 1/8 inch slots routed in 1/2 inch MDF, with lane spacing wide enough for 1/24, and suitable for 1/32. The pieces all totalled equal approximately 25 to 30 feet of track.  -----------------Bill
