I finished this F1 last March or so ( see the Projects page ). We have a couple F1 races toward the end of the season ( 2017 ). Beau and I already tested our F1's and they handle great, should be a fun class with the open wheels as an added challenge! I am in the process of building another one for Blake and then another one for Dwayne. We can have a race with 5 people, so we need one more!

From now on this page will be known as the F1 page. We will have the F1 on the schedule in 2017.

I am still on the Indy car thing. I have updated the chassis rules, the chassis is to be an open chassis. The Scholers are evidently going away as Professor Motor has been out of our favorite one for at least 8 months and they can't get a hold of anyone at Scholer. So, buy or build and let's get this thing going, maybe for the 2016 season!

Update: No Indy cars have been built beyond Beau's. The class is not on the schedule yet for the 2015 season. Maybe if it was put on the schedule there would be a few put together. So stay tuned.

Beau brought his new Indy car to the Jan. 26th. 2013 race. After the race was over he tested it. It turned in the very low 4.3's! This is going to be a very fast class for next season. I am considering a summer race with these cars. There is a picture of Beau's Indy car on the Projects page. It has yet to be painted. His car is powered by a Hawk 7 on a Scholer Pantara chassis.
The previous posts to this topic were copied over from the Northwest True Scale Racers site with Howie's permission. The NTSR site is scheduled to close down at the end of this year. I will be copying over as much of the great information posted there as possible in the next few months. =====Bill

Bill; I was a little down at the start of the evening with the low turnout, but when we got started, what a blast!! The race format does make for close racing. As long as we have at least 5 guys, we are good to go!

Low turnout, but what fun!! I would have liked to have on tape some of the action while I was at the computer! Four cars in the bank at the same time and coming out unscathed! And more than once!

Howie, As usual I had a great time racing the Early Modifieds at Rapid Raceway yesterday! The race format you used sure made for some CLOSE racing, and the Early Modifieds are so exciting to race with the open wheels! I don't think I've experienced that much wheel to wheel side by side racing before. We ran so many laps with cars grouped together, which made the passing really challenging! You had to keep on your toes through every heat! Anyway thanks again, it really was a good time!

April. 4 '16. Monday, another exciting race. Congratulations to Bill for a consistent race, taking his first win here. Bill now leads by one point over Beau for the Early Modified 2016 season points champ.
"exciting racing". Beau comes close to "hitting the pavement"! Later, Stuart did "hit the pavement" with the Holly Farms '39 Chev in this picture, no injury to driver or car!

Today on Mother's day, Blake asked me if I would build him an Early Modified. YES I will!! He already picked the kit out and wants to paint it when I am done building it.

This was 14yr. old Blake's first race. He did an outstanding job of driving. He drove his own race and kept up a steady pace and received an applause from the other racers. Hopefully he will continue racing. He enjoys R/C cars.

If you want to get into an exciting race, try open wheel! The Early Modified is really a fun class to drive as you need to be cautious going into corners which makes for some exciting times! I really like open wheel racing and this class with the old cars ( like me!! ) is a great way to finish up the night! This class will be the runner up to the points class Can-Am starting on March 21st.

Race of Feb. 22, 2014. The Early Modifieds are gaining popularity! The entries are gaining ground as racers find that these cars are a lot of fun and handle great, not to mention the good looks. It was Gearloose's night as he won both classes. James set a new track record with Beau's car. Track records are on the News page.
