Bob Hanna's Spare Time Raceway is celebrating 25 years of slot car racing and hosted the OSCAR group for a special racing event. It's been a few years since OSCAR visited this venue, so when the word got out of this special event, many of the veteran racers made a point to come. This track has some unique layout elements and the famous "Hump" is only found there. The lure of this track also attracted some racers who have never even seen this unique layout. 20 racers showed up to renew some war stories and have a wonderful time of fellowship while welcoming the first timers. The qualifying procedure had a new twist to it. Instead of the fastest lap during a 1 minute qualifying run, the total lap count would determine the starting positions. After qualifying, the field was broken up into 2 races, the "B" main and the "A" main. the "B" main consisted of the 11 racers with the lowest total laps and the top 2 finishers had the option to move up to the "A" main. The race program for both races had timed heats of 3 minutes with 3 complete rotations which equated to 36 minutes of drive time for each racer. Tom Street and Stewart Wall finished first and second and moved up to the "A" main. Both of them received iron man plaques. The "B" main win was awarded to Bill Bostic from Vancouver, WA. The first 5 finishers in each race received a plaque. Lunch was served between the main events. The "A" main would also have 11 racers with Bob Hanna taking the win and Ron Leuenberger finishing second. Regardless of where the racers finished, everyone had a wonderful time. Cheryl cooked an absolutely wonderful lunch with her famous chili, salad and toasted bread. The deserts were a tasty treat after lunch .The concourse winner was the beautiful Marlboro Ferrari driven by Ron Leuenberger.

Concours winner!

Race results:
A Main

B Main
