Topic: Let's Rally!

Ok, we've talked about a rally class.  As it turns out the World Rally Proxy is getting ready to start up and they will be using Scalextric Group B rally cars.  For the most part these are:

Ford RS 2000
Audi Quattro
Lancia Delta S4
MG Metro 6R4

Interested in joining the proxy?  Perhaps this would be a decent start for a rally class.  Ebay has a number of these cars available.  I'm already on board with a Lancia Delta S4 but I'm also considering the Michelle Mouton Audi Quattro.

In the immortal words of Stig Blomqvist at the Maine Forest Rally when discussing dust on the course: "Don't be a wimp, put your foot down!"  Been there, done that, got the autographed t-shirt.

Re: Let's Rally!

SCX cars legal?

Re: Let's Rally!

For the proxy they are only running scaley cars.

Re: Let's Rally!

Poking around, it looks like cars are reasonable.  I think I'm in.

Re: Let's Rally!

If we still had a rally track we could probably offer a round locally.

Re: Let's Rally!

Well, I am officially in.  I have an RS and urQ on their way home for testing and development.  Love this era!

Let’s make one :-)

Like a small hill climb or something.

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

I'm game!  Will happily contribute to the construction but would need it to reside somewhere else, at least for the near term.

Re: Let's Rally!

I was thinking more along the lines of a routed track Doc. A single lane hill climb or a two lane continuous loop. Something that won’t take up too much space.

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: Let's Rally!

So was I thinking a loop style lay out.up on the one side and one lane loop at the end and back down the same way you came. But going all wood would work to.
