Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I went home and put fresh tires on my 956 , Alfa and Lola T70. Ready for a rematch.

As for the Beemer GT3, I've done all that is doable, and still be legal, it's very smooth now but it will never compete with the McLarens and Corvettes. I think it's a basic design issue.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I gave up one mine and got a aftermarket  chassis for it and put a pod in it. see what it does in the gt class. talking racing. is there no racing on the 11/23/17?????????

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Should be, I believe it's Classic Sports Car and Trans Am. I'm scheduled to pour and finish a couple of hundred yards of concrete that day, so I'll probably still be working while your racing.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

11/23 is Thanksgiving Day. I don't think Al gave me that date for an Odd Thursday Night Race? I assumed it was because of Thanksgiving.........

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Oh, I was looking at the wrong Thursday. Yup probably no racing on that day, but then no concrete either.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

bang thud bang thud. that's my head hitting the brick wall. didn't even think about that being turkey day.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Time to vent/complain.  I now have purchased 4 complete wheel/axle assemblies for my GT3 McLaren and the latest one is the same as all the others: the spur gear slips on the axle. Upon further inspection the gears are not installed on the knurled part of the axle. If you move the gear over to the knurled part then there is tremendous side to side play and if you try to shim it then the entire assembly is not centered on the chassis/body.  This is either a serious manufacturing error or they are being cheap and using an axle from a different application and calling it good enough. Well, it isn't.

I know I could use a different car and maybe not have the issue but this is the car I have and I don't really want to spend more money on a different car. The issue could be easily remedied with a Slot.it axle kit but as of now that is not a legal solution. Thanks for listening to me vent.

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Another solution would be to not apply so much power and just drive slowly.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I ended up putting some 15min poxie on the one I had loose fro the factory.if it keeps being a problem we can take a vote and see what we can do.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Yeah Doc, I drove Chris's later in the evening and even I had it in the mid sixes.  I ordered one about five minutes later.

I ordered a yellow one so it wouldn't get confused with Montes.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Hysterical.  You guys kill me.

Wouldn't it be easier on EVERYONE'S pocketbook if we removed these cars from the GT class and just IROC 'em?  They don't seem like a fair race against the other cars in this class at this time.
