That'll be great, look forward to seeing you both.

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

The first event is scheduled for January 3rd.

The first set of races will be the Fly Classics class.  See the post for the rules.  Check them often as there will be changes.

The second set of races will be the SCX Nascar's as raced in the Beaverton series except we will allow you to use any brand of tires.

Don't have a Fly Classic or an SCX Nascar?  Loaner cars will also be available.

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

SCX Nascar from the Beaverton series were all equipped with silicone tires. These will lift any deposits off the track (according to other posts). I assume silicones are out of the question for any class at Pelican Point Raceway.

Run 'em.  They'll be fine.

Len and I are planning to attend the race tomorrow (Jan.3rd). I still have 2 Toaster slots available if anyone wants to ride along!   ----------------Bill

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

I may try to make it but I don't need a ride

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

We're going to implement a new scoring system based on points.  We will implement it for the Sunday race in February.

It works like this:

1st place in heat: 3 points
2nd place in heat: 2 points
3rd place in heat: 1 point

We'll score that way for each heat run.  If we have ties, we'll break those based on lap totals.

This should give everyone an interesting chance at winning since the lap counts will only be used to break ties that result from the heat points.

Cool!

Where we at with tires for the Fly Classic Class?   ------------------Bill

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

Are you going to group drivers of similiar skill level?

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

At the current time you can run any manner of non-silicone tire.  However, I am hopeful of getting enough pairs of urethane's to use as hand-outs and when I do we'll just use those.

Did you try to fit that test set I gave you?  Rico?

I have not tried the set you gave me yet.  --------------Bill

No, Rico, I will just let the computer do it in a random manner.

Not yet, I had to give slot cars a break yesterday in a weak attempt to convince the wife I'm not completely obsessed, which of of course I am.

In that case I may never win a heat.....

Re: Racing at The Pen - Free for all

I'm sure you will find yourself winning heats.  But if you like I can arrange a suitable heat for you.  Maybe more than one.

That's OK, I'll perservere on my own, but it's a losing battle.
