Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

Monday February 21st was another fun day at Inslot's Checkered Flag Raceway. We had 10 racers on hand for the High Noon Womp race. The track was hooked up, tight and fast for the Womps, resulting in break-out laps for a few racers. Bob Nakamura was super fast, winning all three rounds of 20 lap heat races for a clean sweep!

As is typical for the Monday open track days, people come an go throughout the day and evening. As some folks were leaving after the Flexi race other folks began showing up for the night shift!

We ran two rounds of racing for the PM Womp Race. Some racers commented that the track had changed, and this was backed up by the fact there were no break-outs during this race.

Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

NO racing at Inslot's Checkered Flag on April the 18th!

We didn't have enough racers for the evening session.

The next Open Track Monday is May 9th.

Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

After a few weeks of inactivity, the doors were once again opened to racers at Inslot's Checkered Flag Raceway in Vancouver!

The doors opened at 10:00 AM and the racers started filtering in. By 10:30 we had eight racers on hand. Dan Fritz showed up carrying a bowl of his world famous salsa and a a couple bags of chips. It was looking like a great day ahead!

The Womp High Noon race kicked off at 12:05 PM. The competition in this class is tightening up. All the participants are getting their cars really dialed into the track. The normal format for the Womp races was used, three rounds of 20 lap sprint races to determine the winner. Here's the High Noon Womp race results:

1st Doc 42 points
2nd Bob 41 pts.
3rd - tie Dave 38 pts.
3rd - tie Bill 38 pts.
5th Hersch 25 pts.
6th Mitch 22 pts.
7th Gerry 16 pts.
8th John 14 pts.

At the completion of the Womp race the entries for the Flexi Race were gridded. We had seven racers for the Flexi race. The standard race format used for the Flexi races is one round of 4 minute heat races. In this race Bob's car was untouchable! Bob cleaned up winning with a 19 lap margin over second place!

Flexi Race results:

At 6:00 PM we still had five racers ready for the 6PM Womp Race. Again we raced the standard three rounds of 20 lap sprint races. Here's the results:

1st Bill 46 points
2nd Doc 37 pts.
3rd Rico 33 pts.
4th Dave 26 pts.
5th Hersch 15 pts.

The same five racers were then ready to compete in the Flexi Class. These are the results from that race:

It was great to have the track open again, and being able to race with friends! The track owners are meeting tomorrow to set the race schedule for the rest of this year, and the upcoming race seasons. Stay tuned!

Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

We track owners met and put together a schedule for the upcoming year. To start off we will be rotating the locations of the Monday Open Track days and races. We will race at one of four tracks every other Monday. The tracks include; Bob Nakamura's Gorge Raceway in Troutdale, Bill's Inslot's Checkered Flag in Vancouver, Rob's Redline Raceway in Vancouver, and later this year Howie's Rapid Raceway in Portland.

Starting with this Monday June 27th, we will be racing at Bob Nakamura's Gorge Raceway in Troutdale. I will post the entire racing schedule soon.    =========Bill

Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

At Bob's will we be racing the same Womp's and Flexis? If so at what voltage?

Bob had talked about using a lower voltage as the cars were such a handful on his track.

Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

I believe Womps at full 12 volts. I'm not sure other than that.......

Re: PASER Open Track Monday!

I just saw that there was a race at Bob new track on Monday.  How did it go. So are back to racing every Monday except on the 4th.
