Topic: The Columbia Gorge 962 Challenge.

I thought I would put a thread in he events section here instead of the individual track forums, since this is a traveling series. I would be nice for later reference to have all the pictures and results in one thread.

I got my car all ready to go, and went over to Bill's yesterday for an hour or so to make sure she is all running properly. The Sloting plus took even more shimming of the pans and front suspension to get them flush with the chassis. It took much longer than I wanted to get this thing together, but I am happy with how it runs. With some weight tuning it was handling great, even geared a bit tall for Checkered Flag Raceway.

Thanks for letting me do some laps Bill!

Looking good guys, wish I could make it

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: The Columbia Gorge 962 Challenge.

Really nice looking cars. I really like the 962's, they look fast just sitting there and with the True Scale tires and wheels.................frosting on the cake!

Re: The Columbia Gorge 962 Challenge.

The best race I have been a part of to date. Loved the cars, the race format, and the track was so fun to race and pass on!

Re: The Columbia Gorge 962 Challenge.

This was a very fun night of racing, thanks Bob for installing the 962 race on your schedule. I believe the Columbia Gorge Championship is going to get bigger as time goes on and racers find out how much fun it is.

Team Blue Groove makes a very durable and nice looking 962. Some of the very big crashes that I witnessed, ( including mine! ) would have destroyed a thinner body or at least make a person use up a lot of tape!! I am hoping Team Blue Groove makes more 1/24th. Can-Am bodies.

Re: The Columbia Gorge 962 Challenge.

Here are my pics from the event. I am super bummed out that I currently have a scheduling conflict with the race at Howie's, but that's life!

I was very happy with my car and driving in the last two heats of the day, almost brought it back from my gear failure early in the race....

It was evident that careful preparation of the car and safe driving was the way to go in this race. I will definitely be adding a secondary motor mount to my car to aid further in crash protection. The wreck I was in early also slightly bend my front pan and guide tongue which is one of the main reasons my car was so much faster the second half of the day.....

I had a blast, unfortunate I will not be able to see the series through since the scheduling extends well into my 1:1 racing season....

Re: The Columbia Gorge 962 Challenge.

The Columbia Gorge Championship will have four tracks to race on in the 2023 season with the inclusion of Rob's track that does not have a name yet. It is located north of Vancouver.
