Topic: This is the TA2 page.

The race of Jan. 26th. 2013. The first race of the TA2 class. These cars are nice looking and handle ok. The rules have been modified ( check out the rules section ) to go wider on the tracking both front and rear with the addition of fender flairs to help the handling and to copy the look of the current 1-1 scale TA2.
Congratulations to Bob Nak. for winning the first TA2 race with his fine Mustang!!

Kirk is in better shape than he thought he was, he made it into the "Hole". Thanks Kirk.

The "outlaw" green car is of the OSCAR kind, Stuart wanted to race but didn't have a legal car. He was DQ'd.

The race of March 30th. 2013. The last race of the night had 4 entries so we made it short and sweet. Thanks to those who stayed and corner marshaled for this race. These cars are nice looking and fun to race!

The name of Late Model Trans-Am is going to be changed to: TA2. The reason is because there is a series called TA2 that is racing the late model Camaro, Mustang and soon to be Challenger in 1-1 scale. This series is a spin off/continuation of the Trans-Am that started in 1966. This is exactly what we are doing. If you go to links and click on Late Model Trans-Am, it will take you to their web site. Then click on Trans-Am 101 and you will read what TA2 is, also TA and TA3. Our rules will not change.

I am a little bit surprised and quite happy that the TA2 class was voted to be one of two classes that we will compete with for points in the 2015 season. Hopefully that should bring up the number of cars competing!

You all have heard that big things come in small packages, this race proved that to be true! 6 racers made up the field in both classes. Every racer thought this race was a good one. Lot of close racing all night long and some time left over to BS and plan ahead. I was concerned when 3:00pm. showed up and Bill and I were the only ones here. I was also concerned about the rest of the season. However if we can have great races such as this, no problem with the low turnout!

Another very fun race with six veteran drivers. We had three different classes tonight and three different winners. Made for a really good/fun night of racing. Points for this race has been added to the season total on the News page.

Race of Feb. 24th. 2015. Close racing once again. Ted's grandson "Igor" came up from Bend where he races at Tom Street's track, he didn't have the proper car for the classes so he was DQ'd but he did catch on to the track rather quickly.
John fisher built a very nice looking Mustang, his theme is yellow and blue paint. This is the car's first race.
Beau in his fast and great looking Camaro took top spot.

Bill's Camaro, looks like he has been "mixing" it up pretty good!

The race of Nov. 14, '15. I put this race results on this page because we combined the Sportsman and TA2 so everyone could race. The TA2 cars out numbered the Sportsman cars. It was a no points race so no big deal, and fun.

Left to right: Sportsman ( Ted ) TA2 ( Bob N. ) Sportsman ( Blake ) TA2 ( Howie )

This was one heck of a low turnout! But we pulled it off and had a blast doing it!! One guy was posted at the computer to hit the track call button. Bill and I shared a car. Blake is going to get another Challenger, this snap kit was way too heavy.

All brands were present for take off. L-R: Blake, Beau, Bill/Howie, Marty.

The previous posts to this topic were copied over from the Northwest True Scale Racers site with Howie's permission. The NTSR site is scheduled to close down at the end of this year. I will be copying over as much of the great information posted there as possible in the next few months.  =====Bill

Re: This is the TA2 page.

Fellow racers; on April 20, 2019 there will be a TA2 race. It is a fairly easy process to take a late model Trans Am body and install it on a NASTRUCK chassis. Something to think about.

Re: This is the TA2 page.

Results of the April 20, 2019 race:

1......Blake.....................232 laps.
2......Gearloose..............227
3......Marty.....................225
4......Bob.......................224
5......Scott.....................194
6......Ted........................187
7......Howie.....................182
8......Dennis....................DQ.

Re: This is the TA2 page.

At last night's race two racers decided to try and break the TA2 record which was set in 2015 by Bob Nak. First to go was Blake and he was successful and held the record for about 5 min. Then Bob Nak went for it and beat Blake's time. So Bob kept his name on the chart with a new record and a new date!

I am looking forward to this class being run as a back up for the first half of the 2020 season.
