Topic: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

Yes, the garage is not just those little 1:32 scale cars.  Here's a few of the larger scale cars I've gathered up lately.

From my youth - my favorite car - the RussKit Porsche Carrera 6.  This one is complete with the green axles.  a little bit of work and it should prove track ready.

Here' a COX Dino Ferrari Spider - could use a new decal, a little TLC.

And, an almost perfect GarVic other than needing some new tires.

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

New class, Old class, Over 50 class?

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

Those all fall into the Over-50/Vintage classification.

We should probably adjust the Over-50 to include the smaller motors that were used in those days.  Or make for two brackets like the Classic Spo's Ca's I and II.  The smaller, lighter weight motor should be a benefit.

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

We already have this class, and I have a little red Porsche that would love to play with Monte's silver one.

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

Another one for the collection.  KB Chaparral.

It may not prove to be the best racer but, well, Chaparral!

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

All nice cars Monte! Personally I'd like to start racing more of these cars!

P.S. be careful with those "green" axles.......they're aluminum and bend very easily!......Don't ask me how I know........

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

Thanks for the advice!  I do try to be gentle.

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

When I first started racing with the PASER guys I was using "vintage" 1/24 parts. I had a BUNCH of those green axles. Thinking they were obviously an advantage, being lighter and non-magnetic, I went through quite a few of them before I realized they were NOT the hot ticket!!! Some of us learn more slowly than others.......

Re: Monte's Garage - Big Cars

And I was sure those green axles were going to be the winning ticket.  I need to find a guy with axles...

Oh Billy!
