Nice looking car there Chris.

Thanks, but all I did was buy it though.  I actually splurged on the one where the rear clip was also painted.

There are enough types of Revo's there could be multiple classes.

Agreed, but while I have been away, there has been a bit of restructuring of the classes and Classics 2 (where these would naturally land) has apparently gone away and the PGE sportscar class is now Policar only (the other natural fit for these cars).  The vintage Revo's don't fit Classics 1 due to their multi-piece chassis and I am not seeing another class where they'd be legal.

I think the Alfa may qualify for Trans Am, but it's not truly within the intent of the rules as I believe they were written (one-piece plastic chassis cars like Scaley's or Ninco's).

I was looking at picking one up but it would be silly to do so with no class in which to race it.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

The GT-1 is legal under current rules. As far as I know the saloon cars are not along with the Ferrari 333.

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

And asking for a friend... Is there a class in which the Revoslot Alfa's, Escorts, and BMW's are legal?
Only class would be open. I don't they would be able to hang with what guys are running in that class. if enough guys in the club want to race them, we would have to make the rules and drop a class to bring those in. I believe are trying to put a cap on how many classes we run for the year. so it would have to be for the next race season before we could get them in. but nothing set in stone either. .

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

We tried running the Revoslot GT2/GT1 cars in the regular GT series wherever they fit. Though they only have a 21K motor they had enough torque to be quick enough on Al's track. It was the lack of traction that held them back so when we were discussing new classes it was decided to run them in their own class. It appears that many other clubs and proxies have made the same decision. The loss of traction appears to be related to the slight texture of the Magnetic primer. On my track for out at Bill's track the Revoslot tires seem to like the smooth surface allowing these cars to hang with the Slot Its and NSRs.
When I hosted the Revoslot proxy the cars qualified close enough that it was literally anybody's race to win.
As for the smaller cars I have the Alfa and BMW. the first thing I did was replace the 21K motor with an H&R 18K making them legal for classics ll. However I never intended to race them, they are just perfect for my track this way. As for Trans Am racing they would probably also need their own U2 Revoslot class. You also wouldn't be able to fit the spec Black Stripe "trans am" motor as they are all bell driven and the Revo chassis are all can driven.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

It  was good night of racing even  with heated discussions  on full size electric  cars and other things. I think I had something for Al in gfx but the back up car was not as quick as my primary  car. Really weird that photo edged part getting bent and contacting the gear.. all well we are even starting the second half so it anybody championship  to win. Going be interesting  with a new class  part of the points races. See you all in two weeks.

Your photo edge part and my car mysteriously slowing down for several laps and then fixing itself, weird night indeed.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Well we had a good turn out even with a few die hands not making it out. The racing was great all night lot of side by side racing. Al has taken over duec duties  after finishing  2nd in all the races. I'm glad to be able to hand that duty down to him I held the crown for far to long. long live the new Duec.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I'll be the backmarker!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I've got my Scaley GT3 hitting in the mid 6s on my track, however it doesn't always carry over the same on Al's track.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I dug out a few gt3 that had been sitting un used since the track tear down  2 years ago and not good news. All the cars that urethane  tires on them. The tires turned to goo. Three others that were shoed with nsr rubber turned rock hard so only three out of about 15 had good tires on them so that's all I could round up beside my normal two back up Mercedes  just one more reason I need to get the garage  cleaned up and a track built..

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Ok now, looks like wecare starting to get racers showing up for the odd Thursday  program.  Had 8 racers  make it out to do battle on Al's  track. The racing  for the most part was very close throughout  the night  with who could stay in the slot would come out on top.  Up 1st for the night we're the Scalextric  gt3 cars. Doc green machine was on rails and three mistake free heats gave him a win over the field. The battle down the field were tight and ferice with very little quarter  given. When the dust had settled  Al took the 2nd step on the podium  followed  by Rico. Up next was the Money race and nobody had anything for Doc big v10 Viper with him once again standing on the top step with once again taking second Rico 3rd.last race of the night was open and same story line with Doc only having on track issue early in the 1st heat. AL had  a chance he was up one tenth after his 1st heat but the pressure got to him and to many forced off  pushing hard to make time cost him the win..  that was it for the night rest was test and tune on racers revo's trying to find more speed.  For race results forthcoming. All in all it was a great night of racing..ta and sports car one are on for the next odd Thursday  see you all then.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I figured out after the racing was over that my controller was not always returning all the way causing some consistency issues. I need to get a new handle to repair it properly as I'm not convinced the repair I performed last night is going to last.

Rico, is your handle the standard Parma handle? I have some.

Nay you just need some 14 gage wire.?(the stuff from Germany is the best) some 100 mph tape. 4 self tapping screws and  medical grade Goss  all and if that still doesn't  fix a ten bound hammer.

Rico,
Mine was doing the same a couple of weeks ago,  I lubed it and backed off the trigger screw a bit. Problem seems to be solved.
