Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

Friend, competitor, mentor, I miss you Buddy!

Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

More devastating news.  I had emailed with Goose a few times recently and he had not been feeling well.

Victoria and I are both sorry to hear this.

I found him a pleasant, well-humored fellow.  I truly enjoyed our every meeting.

These words times 10. I will miss his emails and his humor

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

I didn't see him much except at the NASTE races, but when I did meet up with him it was always a +, an up beat person and a fun personality. I know he will be missed.

Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

Over the thirty-some years I knew Goose we first collected, and then raced slot cars together. During those years I knew he had collected quite a few slot cars. In the early years of our friendship he collected mostly 1/32 and 1/24 cars, where I was collecting HO slot cars. We would do some trading and many times he would purchase the larger scale cars I found. I never thought much about the cars he had as I was mostly just interested in the cars I had. He never displayed his collection until just the last few years, and then his displayed collection consisted of mostly newer 1/32 cars. Sometimes I wondered where and what he had that was not out to see. Everyone knew he had a lot of cars, but upon acquiring his collection I am totally amazed every time I pull out another box to sort through. So in Goose's honor I have decided to post up some photos of his fantastic collection for all to see. A collection this great deserves to be seen! So for your viewing pleasure, here is The Goose Collection part 1:

Gary "Goose" "Out Of Stock" Gossett!

Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

Bill:

Would Goose have had a Strombecker Lotus 19 by any chance? That you'd be willing to part with?

Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

Man-o- a Mako shark mkIV.  sweet Need to get a few class cases and display these at your track. lots of history there.

Re: My Friend Gary "Goose" Gossett

Stan, I'm pretty sure there's a Strombecker Lotus 19 or two in here someplace. When I run across one I'll set it aside for you!

Doc, Yes, lots of history. It's too bad I don't have enough room to display all this stuff permanently. There's 2 mako Sharks there. The one on the display is missing the outer portion of the original box. The one below it is complete also but new in the box!
