Bill,
Thanks for organizing the McFarland Memorial Track tour and thanks for the write-up. It was really interesting to see that the H-Bracket (Big Wheel) cars were more than competitive with the OSCAR rides. Note that the top four finishers entered Big Wheel Cars. I know the comparison was not perfect because many of the OSCAR racers were not locals with track knowledge.

Spare Time Raceway (STR) is a private track owned and operated by Bob Hanna. The track is located in a modest sized shop in Roseburg, Oregon. The four lane wood routed track is a tight and technical course with lane length of about 90 feet and 4.5 inch lane spacing. With the exception of the banked turn, all turns have an inner lane radius of only eight inches. The track is finished with black epoxy paint and powered by two, 12 volt deep cycle batteries. Driver

A few of us have built Can Am cars based on the Scholer chassis and a Deathstar motor. We have been using the 1/24 th scale Tamiya slot car kits. My favorite is the Lola, however many are available and Ron has a stable of cars including a Lotus, Porsche 908, Lola and McLaren. It may take a while for this class to catch on but these cars run quite well and are nearly as fast as their resin bodied, scratch-built counterparts. Below are some images

Hi Rich, I had a couple opportunities to race on your track some years back. Your track is beautifully constructed and I found the layout challenging and fun! Hopefully now that I'm retired I'll be able to get back down to Roseburg for some more racing! Thanks for posting here on our NASTE site! -------------Bill
Bill - we would love to have you, Brian or any in your group join us for racing or just practice!! Let me know when you are going to be in the area

Hey Rich, Couldn't help noticing that engine in the background. You got a sandrail?
No - Some of the images of our rides were taken at Bob H. place. He has one or more rails

Late Model Trans Am (LMTA) is a relatively new class and has been a blast to run. The field is diverse including modern Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers with no one make dominating the field. The cars utilize deathstar motors and the Scholer chassis. Rear track is limited to 3.25 inches. Front track is limited to 3.15 inches. Fender flairs are required so that wheels don
